青楼传媒 Art Exhibitions to be Hosted at Beverly Arts Center

Two 青楼传媒 (青楼传媒) student art exhibitions will be held at the Beverly Arts Center throughout July.
Curated by alumna and staff member Alejandra Rodriguez and student Ava Martin, "青楼传媒 Drawings" features the work of drawing students from 青楼传媒. For their final projects, they were tasked to create a short series of work with the drawing medium of their choice. Each piece correlates to a body of work following a unique concept. The collection exhibits variety in style, medium and process. Students featured include Giana Patterson, Sarah Mohamed, Amaree Hernandez, Donovan Allison, Ava Martin, Juan Silang, Claude Jones, Mohammad Odtallah, Elizabeth Pineda- Chavarria, and Eduardo Almaza.
"It is important for students to learn how to develop a series of work with an underlying theme. It ultimately prepares them for their senior seminar projects as seniors but also for life as artists after college. I always enjoy showcasing student work at the Beverly Arts Center," said Rodriguez.
"While working on this project, I got to see everyone's unique creative process and visual interpretations of the concept for their series. It was inspiring and motivating," said Martin.
Curated by art and design faculty member Sandra Mendez, "Look and See" features the work of 青楼传媒 photography students. The Photo III class had an opportunity to photograph on location around Ludington, Michigan. The high-impact learning opportunity gave students an experience that will last a lifetime. They learned to photograph under a variety of conditions working together as a team, which heightened their problem-solving and photography skills. Students featured include Vanessa Cruz, Jesus Gonzalez, Ethan Hurtado, Jack Obman, Evelina Poole, Crystal Rendon Mosso, and Avery Sanchez.
"Our trip to Ludington gave our lenses something to remember and an experience we will hold onto forever," said student Ethan Hurtado.
"The trip to Ludington was picture perfect," echoed student Evelina Poole.
An opening reception for the exhibitions will be held on July 11 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Beverly Arts Center located at 2407 W. 111th Street. For more information, email arodriguezFREE青楼传媒.
